( God will take vengeance for us! @ 11:52 AM )

How often do you want to 'get even'? Proverbs 20:10 "The Lord despises double standards of every kind'. Romans 12:17-19 "Never pay back evil to anyone. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you're honourable. Do your part to live in peace with everyone as much as possible... never avenge yourselves. Leave that to God. For it is written, "I will take vengeance, I will repay those who deserve it," says the Lord'. How often do we see evil around us and pray for God's justice? We wonder why does God allow this evil to go on! This kind of thinking leads to 2 standards:- 1) judging others more harshly than we judge ourselves & 2) believing God should judge others but remain lenient with us. The Lord despises double standards because they elevate one person at the expense of others. These man-made standards lack the mercy of God. When we remember that God's patience and mercy block His judgement towards us, we will more likely show others patience and mercy. Lord give me strength to replace judgement with mercy.

( New Things! @ 9:52 PM )

New Things! Phil 3:13-14, "Forgetting what is behind & straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus'. Our pat can be a hindrance or a help in moving toward God's purpose for each of us. For some, the past has meant pain and heartache, and grace is required so that we do not let our past dictate our responses to the future. If we allow our past to make us a victim, then we have not entered into the grace that God has for us. Isaiah 43:19 'See I'm doing a new thing! Now it springs up, do you not perceive it? I'm taking an way in the desert and streams in the wasteland'. God is always doing new things in our lives. He gives fresh revelation of His purpose in our lives. So do not hold onto bitterness or negative thoughts that may hinder God from doing new & exciting things in your life. HE turns our wastelands into streams of water to give life.
My prayer to you:-
Father, You are the Creator and Ruler over everything that exists, every good and perfect goft comes from You. Thank You Jesus for shedding Your precious Blood and dying on the Croiss to purchase for me the gift of Eternal Life and Your Perfect Sacrifice which provides constant intercession so I can go before the Throne of Grace to receive mercy and forgiveness in time of need. Help me to be quick to recognize and confess my sins and Thank You for making a way for the Holy Spirit to become part of my life. I ask You Hoily Spirit to organize my day, deliver me from evil, and to teach me to renew my mind and use what I learn form You today to bear fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, goodness, faithfulness and self-control. In Faith I believe You bring blessings into my life and equip me for the good works established for me to fulfil by Grace. FATHER I ask You these requests and thank You and praise You in Jesus' Name!

( Boldness Before the Throne @ 9:53 PM )

Jesus tells us . . . , "When you pray, pray like this. "Our Father who is in heaven, hallowed by Thy name. Thy kingdom come."
When you say, "Thy kingdom come, "you are inviting the Messiah himself to walk into your world. "Come, my King! Take your throne in our land. Be present in my heart. Be Lord of my family, my fears and my doubts." This is no feeble request; it's a bold appeal for God to occupy every corner of my life.
[And] who are you to ask such a thing? Who are you to ask God to take control of your world? You are His child, for heaven's sake! And so you ask boldly.

( The Worshipful Heart @ 12:01 PM )

We still struggle for the right words in prayer. We still fumble over Scripture. We don't know when to kneel. We don't know when to stand. We don't know to pray.
Worship is a daunting task.
For that reason, God gave us the Psalms - a praise book for God's people . . . This collection of hymns and petitions are strung together by one thread - a heart hungry for God.
Some are defiant. Others are reverent. Some are to be sung. Others are to be prayed. Some are intensely personal. Others are written as if the whole world would use them . . .
The very variety should remind us that worship is personal. No secret formula exists. What moves you may stymie another. Each worships differently. But each should worship

( An Old Man's Prayer @ 11:10 AM )

Have you heard the story about the 85-year-old man who was arrested for praying?
You probably have. That's the story of Daniel, an elderly Jewish man in Babylon who was sentenced to death for faithfully talking to God. (Dan.6)
Although the prayer that sent Daniel to the lions' den in his most famous talk with God. (6:11), it wasn't the only time we see him in prayer.
In Daniel 9, we read an example of how he prayed. Daniel had been reading in his scroll of Jeremiah that the captivity of his people would last 70 years, and the people were 67 years the exile (Jer 25:8-11). He was eager of it to end.
God had called His people to live righteously, but they weren't doing that. Daniel decided to live righteously despite their lack of faith. He began to pray that God would not delay the end of the captivity.
As he prayed, Daniel focused on worship and confession. His pattern of prayer gives us an important insight into talking to God. We are to recognize that God is "great and awesome" (v.4) and that "we have sinned" (v.15). In prayer, we praise and confess.
Let's follow Daniel's lead. To him, prayer was as vital as life itself.
What privilege is mine to come
Before the Father's throne,
To speak to Him in earnest prayer,
Make all my wishes known
No one stands as tall as a Christian on his knees

( Cracked Lenses @ 10:13 AM )

I started wearing glasses when I was 10 years old. They are still a necessary because my 50-something eyes are losing their battle against time. When I was younger, I thought glasses were nuisance-especially when playing sports. Once, the lenses of my glasses got cracked while I was playing softball. It took several weeks to get them replaced. In the meantime, I saw everything in a skewed and distorted way.
In life, pain often functions like cracked lenses. It creates within us a conflict between what we experience and what we believe. pain can give us a badly distorted perspective on life- and on God. In those times, we need our God to provide us with new lenses to help us see clearly again. That clarity of sight usually begins when we turn our eyes upon the Lord. The psalmist encourages us to do this: "My eyes are upon You, O GOD the Lord; in You I take refuge; do not my soul destitute" (141:8). Seeing God clearly can help us see life's experiences more clearly.
As we turn our eyes to the Lord in times of pain and struggle, we will experience His comfort and hope in our daily lives. He will help us to see everything clearly again.
Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face;
And the things of the earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace.
Focusing on Christ puts everything in perspective.

( Wandering From Wisdom @ 3:28 PM )

If God offered you anything you wanted, what would you ask for?
When Solomon was given that choice, he asked for wisdom to discern good from evil so that he might lead God's people well (1 Kings 3:9). "Because you have asked this thing." God told Solomon, "I have done according to your words." He even promised to give him"both riches and honor" (vv. 11-13). To this day, Solomon is remembered for the great wisdom God gave him.
Solomon began his rule with devotion to wisdom and a deep ambition to build a magnificent temple to honor God. But something happened along the way. His passion for living by God's wisdom was displaced by the allures of the wealth and position God had given him.
Keep our love for Christ and His wisdom preeminent is a primary objective for those of us who want to live to satisfy God throughout the course of our life. A commitment to following the riches of God's wisdom will enable us to avoid the drift that destroyed Solomon.
Keep your heart in time with God's wisdom and obey His voice.
Monitor your heart daily to avoid wandering from God's wisdom

( Common Sense @ 11:03 AM )

Common sense is not common. In a society that has grown increasingly litigious, we are inundated with warnings on products, mostly because some people lack common sense.
On a hair dryer: do not use while you are sleeping
On an iron: do not iron clothes on body
On a chainsaw: do not attempt to stop chain with your mind
Common sense can be learned from experience or the teaching we receive from those we trust. But God's Word is the best source of all to develop discernment and good judgement.
Three words echo throughout the book of Proverbs: wisdom, knowledge and understanding. God has packed this book with common sense.
Proverbs 11:12 advises restraint: "A man of understanding holds his peace."
Proverbs 17:27 warns: "He who has knowledge spares his words, and a man of understanding is of a calm spirit."
Proverbs 20:13 is practical: "Do not love sleep, lest you come to poverty."
To get more common sense, consult God's Word - the source of wisdom- daily.
Knowledge without common sense is folly.

( Quiet, Please @ 3:34 PM )

In recent years, the spread of personal digital music players has resulted in concerns about hearing loss. The design of music players and their earphones has been the target of complaints and lawsuits. Long term exposure to music at a high volume has been shown to cause serious hearing impairment. In a sense, too much of hearing can result in an inability to hear.
We live in a world filled with noise-noises designed to sell, plead, seduce and deceive. In the midst of this cacophony of sound, it's easy to miss the one voice that matters most.
Elijah had listened to Jezebel's threats and the voice of his own fear, so he fled to a cave to hide. In the cave he was confronted with the overwhelming noise of a wind, an earthquake, and fire (1 Kings 19:11-12). Then the cave grew silent and the voice of the Lord-the only sound that mattered-broke through as "a still small voice" (v.12)
If we are to hear God speaking to our hearts through His Word, we need to pull away from the noise of the crowd. Only when we learn to be quiet can we really understand what it means to commune with the God who cares for us.
Speak, Lord, in the stillness
While I wait on Thee;
Hushed my heart to listen
In expectancy.
To hear God's voice, turn down the world's volume.

( Peace Treaties of Love @ 12:18 PM )

Jesus described for His followers what He came to do. He came to build a relationship with people. He came to take a way enmity, to take away the strife, to take away the isolation that existed between God and man. Once He bridged that, once He overcame that, He said, "I will call you friends."
In repairing a relationship, it's essential to realize that no friendship is perfect, no marriage is perfect, no person is perfect. With the resolve that you are going to make a relationship work, you can develop peace treaties of love and tolerance and harmony to transform a difficult situation into something beautiful.

( A Big View of God @ 11:12 AM )

Exactly what is worship? King David's definition. "oh magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together" (Psalms 34:3).
Worship is the act of magnifying God. Enlarging our vision of him. Steeping into the cockpit to see where He sits and observe how he works. Of course, His size doesn't change, but our perception of Him does. As we draw nearer, He seems larger. Isn't that what we need? A big view of God? Don't we have big problems, big worries, big questions? Of course we do. Hence we need a big view of God.
Worship offers that. How can we sing, "Holy, Holy, Holy" and not have our vision expanded?
